First IFRS diploma in Malta goes to
MGI associates 1 October 2006
Three of our team members, Conrad Borg, Doreen Calleja and Neville Cutajar,
have become the first three Maltese professionals to obtain the Diploma
in International Financial Reporting after successfully completing
a program organised by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
The diploma is designed to develop a deep understanding of the concepts
and principles on which the international financial reporting standards
are based as well as practical knowledge of their application in the international
marketplace.
In an increasingly global world financial reporting is moving from a
national to an international perspective. European Union, Russia, South
Africa, Hong Kong, Australia, and Singapore have all adopted the IFRS.
The intention is increased transparency and comparability of financial
reports across the world.
MGI Malta has embraced this development by providing extensive educational
support to our people and created a fully IFRS compliant module for automatic
and instant production of financial statements using the Sage Accounts
Production software.
