Q. How can one determine whether a gaming operation by a Malta registered company requires a gaming license from the Lotteries and Gaming Authority?
A.
When such gaming operation is already licensed in another jurisdiction, there is no requirement that one applies also for a Malta licence as long as such operation is not presented to the general public as Licensed in Malta.
If the gaming operation will be in the form of a Skin operating on a Malta licensed platform, again there is no need for the Skin to have a separate licence. It will be the platform that will inform the Lotteries and Gaming Authority that such skin will be covered by its own licence.
A Malta gaming licence will generally only be required when the operators will be in sole control of players data and funds themselves.
